One of the videos was uploaded by the Instagram account @merapi_uncover on Thursday (16/3/2023). "Something passed over Merapi at 22:14 WIB. But as of this upload, it is still not known exactly what that bright light was," wrote the uploader. When confirmed by Kompas.com on Friday (17/3/2023), the uploader said that the footage was obtained from CCTV. "From the Freekon DIY CCTV," he said.
